Today’s Washington Post featured the Woodley Park  neighborhood in the article City Culture and Charm In Tai Shan’s Back Yard. The Post summarized the neighborhood in the following manner.

BOUNDARIES: Woodley Park is bound by Rock Creek Park and the National Zoological Park to the east, Calvert Street and Cleveland Avenue to the south, 34th Street to the west and Woodley Road/Klingle Road to the north.

SCHOOLS: Oyster-Adams Bilingual Elementary School; John Eaton Elementary School; Alice Deal Middle School; Woodrow Wilson Senior High School.

HOME SALES: In 2008, 21 single-family houses sold, from $719,500 to $2.995 million, according to Holly Worthington of Long & Foster. The average sale price was $1.094 million. Five houses are on the market, listed from $1.049 million to $2.5 million. Twenty condos/co-ops sold in 2008, from $180,000 to $1.495 million. The average sale price for condo/co-ops was $423,663. Eight condos and co-ops are now on the market, with listing prices from $338,900 to $1.395 million.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: National Zoo, Connecticut Avenue shops and restaurants, Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan attractions, Metro’s Red Line.

WITHIN 15 MINUTES BY CAR: Downtown Washington, Capital Beltway.
