March 18, 1942: The Minister of Czecho-Slovakia and Mme. Hurban entertained at a reception in honor of Bohuslav Martinu and his wife. It was an “after concert” affair starting at 10:30 p.m. Earlier, guests attended the concert at the Sulgrave Club, where Constance Russell, pianist, and Lucien La Port Kirsch, violinist, played a number of pieces written by Mr. Martinu, who is a well-known Czech composer.Bohuslav Martinu
