Colonial Village at a Glance

The Saturday, March 3, 2009, Washington Post featured the Colonial Village neighborhood in the article Greenery, Open Space and Kids on Bikes. The Post summarized the neighborhood in the following manner.

BOUNDARIES: Colonial Village is roughly bounded by 16th Street NW on the east, Holly Street NW on the south, Beach Drive on the west and Maryland on the north.

SCHOOLS: Lowell School, Shepherd and Lafayette elementary, Deal Middle School, Coolidge Senior High School.

HOME SALES: Fifteen single-family houses sold in Colonial Village in the year ended March 1, from $485,000 to $1.8 million, with an average sale price of $835,500, according to Dianne Bailey of Long & Foster. Ten houses are on the market, from $659,000 to $4 million, with an average listing price of $1.18 million. Two houses are under contract, both for $549,000.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: Rock Creek Park, shops on Grubb Road.

WITHIN 15 MINUTES BY CAR: Downtown Silver Spring, Bethesda, Capital Beltway, Metro’s Red Line.
