streetlampApril 7, 1902: Chairman Babcock, of the House District Committee, reported favorably the bill to allow the consolidation of the Washington and Georgetown gaslight companies and the recapitalization of the Washington company. The bill was the same as the one originally presented, except that it had been amended in minor particulars at the suggestion of the District Commissioners, and a committee amendment had been added to limit the issue of stock.
