2039 New Hampshire Ave., NW, #704

northumberland_exterior_aHere’s a brand new listing that shows promise. For a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 955 sq ft place listed for $415,000 just off the U Street corridor, I’ll be surprised if it stays on the market for long.

From the photos of the place, its stunning (see below after the jump). It will also be open this Sunday if you want to see it in person.

Factoring in the location, its well worth the price … especially considering its a penthouse unit with both eastern and northern exposures, which are desirable to me as I hate the late afternoon sun heating up a room.

I’ve generally liked this location every time I’ve been through it, and I’ve noted that it seems to be somewhat park-like in its setting. I can’t image the traffic would be a major issue, as the streets are either one way or don’t really go anywhere. Its a block off of both U and 16th Streets, and a short walk to Meridian Hill Park.

You can go to the listing to see the basic details, or contact Matt Zanolli, the realtor that brought this to my attention and has provided the interior photos you’ll find after the jump.living_room_bkitchen_adining_room_a

I’ll never understand why realty folks say that this area is Dupont. It’s clearly Shaw….anyway….

the apt. looks pretty nice, but I wouldn’t call it stunning, and it’s overpriced for a one bedroom in this market – esp. since it doesn’t have A/C or it’s own laundry in the unit.

This one, a block closer to the metro, is also on the high side, but a better deal (laundry, balcony, 2 levels, etc.), I think: http://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/1390-V-St-NW-20009/unit-322/home/10192417

  2. […] a good location, and 950 sq. ft. of space. Compared to the property I posted about on April 9th at 2039 New Hampshire Ave., these two seem to be similar. This property has an extra bedroom, but 5 sq. ft. […]
