April 12, 1914: Under a glorious sun, all Washington’s Easter records were broken to date. More persons were in the churches than even Palm Sunday. Many thousands more visited Rock creek and other parks than on any other Easter day, and far more persons joined the parade on Connecticut avenue in the afternoon than even the oldest residents recalled.easter-1914
