June 11, 1906: Representatives of the Northeast Suburban Citizens’ Association, attorneys, members of churches, and many property owners appeared before the Board of Commissioners to protest against the issuance of a permit for the erection of four small stores on the tract of land at First street and Rhode Island avenue.
