17th Street becomes a one way south street during the morning rush, and these neon signs are to remind drivers at intersections of that fact. This one has malfunctioned, and the arrow stays on. The signs are to flash between the arrow and the words “one way.” This sign is located between the Mayflower Hotel and the National Geographic Building.

The demise of this sign is sad. While its hard to read, the small letters read “Ride with Safety, Yellow Cab.” If someone wanted to bring it back, it is not so far gone that that couldn’t happen. It is on the Yellow Cab building on Bladensburg Road, somewhere near the intersection of R or Rand Streets, NE. I’ll bet it was something back when all the neon was intact and lit up.The only neon still working is above the front door, which I’ve included below.
If I recall, this neon parking sign was located on 19th Street, between L and M Streets.
I liked how blue was used for both the steam and the chopsticks.
