Construction of the firework stand outside Sweet Mango, across from the Georgia Ave./Petworth Metro, started last Friday and is essentially complete except for signage, bunting, and actual merchandise.
I expect that to be accomplished this week — especially since the Caribbean Festival is next weekend, and there is no reason for them not to literally cash in on that business.
Every year this stand arrives announcing the start of Summer with a bang. For weeks the neighbors will be regaled with fireworks of every kind. This is no mere firecracker and sparkler store … they sell some serious stuff!
